ABOUT

Hi I'm Shelley Kennedy,

Women's Health & Continence Physiotherapist
Birth Practitioner
B Physiotherapy
PGrad Cert Continence and Women's Health (Curtin University)

I am a Continence and Women’s Health Physiotherapist and Birth Practitioner based in the beautiful coastal country town, Denmark Western Australia.

I live with my wonderful husband Tyrone and our two young daughters, Clover and Mavi on our cattle farm just out of town, our own peaceful slice of paradise.

With over 16 years of experience in both the private practise and hospital systems in Perth and Melbourne, I gained extensive knowledge in women's health, orthopaedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, aged care and falls management.

Despite working with 100’s of women, falling pregnant with my first daughter gave me the most incredible admiration for the woman’s body and created a deep yearning to understand the woman’s body in depth. And so with my 8 week old newborn baby, my new postpartum body and the eagerness that was instilled in me after bearing and birthing my baby, I returned to Curtin University in Perth to specialise in Women’s Health. It has hands down been the best career decision I have made, despite all the lack of sleep and stumbling through motherhood for the first time.

In 2016 I launched Nest Physiotherapy, with the vision of empowering women to build self confidence and awareness of their ever changing bodies.

Nest Physiotherapy caters for all women through all life's stages and was in fact named with this nurturing experience in mind. My approach is holistic and looks at the body as one dynamic unit to find the root cause of your pelvic complaints using evidence based techniques rather than just treating the symptom. I aim to provide a service that nurtures my clients through their recovery using realistic and tailored, specialised hands on treatment,  exercise, education and self management.

I am committed to helping my clients reach their goals by working alongside their medical team, other therapists and fitness professionals.

Conditions that I treat but are not limited to:

  • Incontinence

  • Urinary Urgency/Frequency

  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse
